File sharing has gotten a really bad name over the years.  I am not sure exactly what has happened, but now there is this stigma attached to file sharing that I am not appreciative of. I imagine that there isn’t a whole lot to worry about as most of us do not involve ourselves in illegal activity, but it’s good to know which software companies are going to be a target by the RIAA.  I have learned that ares has not been a target due to the fact that they are open sourced and not corporately funded.  This gives me great peace of mind when I use them.
