Jack Vettriano: Loved By The People, Hated By Critics
Britain has been blessed with a number of great artists both old and new. One of the best figurative artists that we have is Jack Vettriano a self taught painter from Fife in Scotland. Unfortunately he has never received much critical acclaim with many critics labelling his work as devoid of imagination and slightly vulgar. Despite this Jack Vettriano has been one of the most financially successful British artists with the Guardian reporting that he earns £500,000 a year through royalties of the sale of his prints. This proves that his work is loved by the British public, which probably matters more to Jack Vettriano.
