I moved from Mesa, AZ to Castle Rock, CO in 2007. I wish I had used a personal Realtor when I did so. I had an opportunity to come up with enough anticipation time to have a home built and wanted to move directly into the new home without staying in corporate housing. Because we did not have the time to find a Realtor, my family simply took time off of our respective jobs and headed up to look at new homes without one. We thought since it was a buyers’ market at the time we would get a good deal. Now having been in the area some time, we see that it would have been worth the effort to have found someone that new the neighborhoods and had a preferred lender instead of using the builder’s in-house lender.
