People who have work from home jobs might have the opportunity to take a home office deduction on their taxes. The problem is, that particular deduction is one of the red flags that can get you audited. So many people have taken advantage of that IRS deduction that it is one of the things that can get you into trouble. Many people do and can legitimately make a deduction for a home office but a certain number try to get that deduction when they are not really entitled to it. This has led the IRS to clamp down on the “home office” deduction so it is wise to claim it with caution.
