Many people want to eat healthy, but what exactly is eating healthy? Every day you hear about new studies with health claims for different foods, many times contradicting the information that was released in previous studies. So how can anyone really know what it is to “eat healthy”? Well, some health claims have stood the test of time. There really are some foods that lower blood pressure, and some foods that raise blood pressure. Eating too much salt can raise your blood pressure, this has been shown time and again. Foods such as fruits, vegetables, and low fat dairy products can help lower blood pressure as not getting enough calcium or potassium can contribute to high blood pressure.
