When a company appears on the market, it usually takes her som time to break into first lines and takes a good share of market. But that is not what happened with Dyson. These vacuums were first sold in Japan, since no US company found them to be interesting at all. When you look at it now, they lost millions of dollars. Hoover even tried to steal the patent from Dyson, but the court stopped them in doing so. I guess there are many companies who regret not producing Dyson vacuums themselves. Not only they lost the opportunity to make money, but they gained a big competitor who drove them out of their market share.
