Many the homeowner has skipped one of the most important steps in building a house.  You must take the right steps to seal the walls of any basement if you expect that basement to stay dry.  The problem is, concrete is up to 20% air.  When the concrete is poured, that air begins to form little tunnels in the wall.  When this oxidizes with the outside world, you get water in the basement.  Concrete Sealers can keep this from happening, and it is vital that you you use them if you want a dry basement.  Otherwise, you can expect up to twenty gallons a day on your floor.
